Old SLchool, baby!

Hey…hey buddy. WAKE UP. Don’t you know there’s a party tonight?!

A few weeks ago on plurk, I mentioned that I wanted to throw an old SLchool party. People could bust out their old old skins and their bling, and we’d party it up in a “club” with a sploder and all that. Most of us don’t go out to clubs in SL anymore, preferring the company of just friends and family and our own lands. But how are we supposed to get to know people if we don’t get out?? Not that going to an SL club now would probably work, but you know what I mean. 🙂

So luckily for me, my Aldwyn was a hoarder on his first account, and had many many things I needed for the party place. I had some stuff – the club build, particles, old dances. But he had the other good stuff – like the old school sploder, old couples dances still inside poseballs [my couples dances are in the intan and most are fairly recent], and dance poles. Because seriously? It’s not a party without dance poles.

We needed outfits, though, so we headed over to Freebies Dungeon. If you want to see ACTUAL NEWBIES, not just people alting, go there!

Then, of course, some girl got all up on Aldwyn.

She IMed him first and he told her “Greetings.” She basically acted like she’d never heard that before and said only gentlemen say greetings. Then she had the good sense to read my profile and lit on out of there. I could have certainly taken her in an ass kicking contest. She didn’t have any feet.

SO. Dig those old skins that you couldn’t throw away out of their boxes, dust off your old shoes that made your feet look like pancakes, and come join us tonight at 8pm SLT for an Old SLchool good time!! If you have lag issues, you might need to turn particles off, but hey, that’s pretty old SLchool, too!

They say that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. I think I’ve reached that with these freaking cats.

My two Valentine cats had yet another generic. Then Ulaa and I got her Leprecat and my Flame cat together and had…another generic cat.

Dios mio.

Hey, I get it. Breeding cats is not going to be my new SL business. Hell, it’s not even SL fun anymore. All I ever wanted was one cat to recover the money I’ve spent and then I would gracefully retire. Instead I’ve had a succession of fairly generic diamonds and smokeys and it’s making me very [ungracefully] bitchy. So enough.

Katey Coppola from Glitterati has donated a small space for Plurkers to sell their kitties, and so I went over there tonight to drop off a few, including the two new babies I had today. The dark kitten has fire eyes, if you are looking for fire eyes. There were a few really nice cats up there when I went to look, and they seem to be at decent prices, so check it out.

Yeah, you’re right. I still have cats at home. I have my Leprecats since they were an anniversary gift. I have my pink Valentine’s cat and my Flame. And I have the two new Diamonds I got in the past few days. But 6 cats are better than 11, right? If the Leprecats don’t have a decent kitten this week, they’ll be set to non-breeder status. The V-day cat and the flame have already been set to non-breeders. That will definitely help out.

In non-kittycats related news, I’m having a hump day party tomorrow! The theme is Fashion Disasters, so bling it UP! I want to see bling, oil, bad hair and ugly shoes! I’m even pulling the party ball out for the occasion. 🙂 We haven’t had a hump day party in a long long time so I’m super excited!!

Day 176 – Party day!!

Tonight at 7pm SLT – Hump Day Party!!! Yeahhhh!! I’m excited! I’ve been fluttering around the Party Ball today touching up things.

I won’t lie – it’s going to look best if you have glow and particles enabled. But, if you’re unable to do that, it does look still bright in there even on the very lowest SL setting. As far as lighting, I like the “purplebluenight” setting that I *think* comes with the Emerald viewer. But I think sunset looks good too. At midnight, the avatars look dark and that doesn’t always make for great pics.

My parcel on Bluebonnet is closed at the moment except for the island residents & some others that are on the list because I have a landing point set and I don’t want anyone falling out of the ball since I have it phantom at the moment. LOL

I just can’t wait for the party!! I hope to see lots of you there! 🙂

Day 175 – He’s a good cuddle buddy

Have you all met Nigel? He’s been living on Bluebonnet for a while now, ever since wandering home with me from where he had been living and working as a racer. He’s pretty quiet…he barely makes a peep. But whenever I need someone to just sit on while I do blog posts or anything, he lets me sit on him. I love Nigel.

I was working again on the party ball today. I want it to be very close to our original one, but I cannot find the texture I used to have in the old one!! So I guess we’ll see. LOL I cannot wait for the party. I think it’s going to be so fun! 7pm SLT, and I’ll get the SLurl out tomorrow on plurk and here, or just IM me in world and I’ll get you over there. 🙂

I’m busy watching Jerseylicious now, so I have to go.

Little updates

I’ve been working tonight on setting up the area for the yard sale this weekend. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Read this post. I’m excited for it! I know I will probably end up doing more buying than selling. LOL!

But this is how it looks so far. Not at ALL finished.

Don’t worry, the Fiesta Zone is not gone. It’s just waaaay up in the air for now. And the ice cream place is off to the side.

Tomorrow night is a BACK TO SCHOOL party at 8pm SLT. 🙂 The Thorne-Darwins are being kind enough to host us, so we’ll be at the Ghambt Community Center gymnasium. 😀

I need to get back to work. 🙂

It was a good week. :)

It was a pretty decent week in my little corner of SL. At least for me. If you didn’t have a good week, I’m sorry your life isn’t as awesome as mine. :-p Kidding, kidding.

But I did have a nice week, with a few exceptions [like missed cuddle times 😦 ], but the highlight of my week was most definitely Wednesday night’s party. It was a trailer park theme, with lots of country and southern rock music. Of course, my electricity went out briefly [I swear we paid the bill!] but it wasn’t a party downer. I took pics for my Snapzilla, but I’ll share a few here.

Yeah, I gave myself a huge rear end for the party. Too much beer and corn nuts in the park. LOL

We’ve been having a little more lag than usual on the island in the past couple of days. I keep checking the top scripts and the top colliders, and honestly, nothing seems out of the ordinary. I even restarted the island on Wednesday night [although not for lag issues] and that didn’t seem to help. I’m really not sure what’s going on. I’d blame the chickens, however we’ve had way more chickens on the island before and never had this issue. I’ll blame Linden Lab. That seems to be the in thing to do.

In a rare spurt of being social last night, I had too many super strong jello shots at my friend’s house last night because it was her birthday. I really do not drink. I don’t like the taste of alcohol these days [these days being about the past 2 years] and I don’t really care for the way it makes me feel. So I’m running at about half speed today. But it was very fun, and the part that made me laugh later thinking about it is how very easily I talk about my Second Life friends. And the thing is, I don’t preface it anymore with saying “Oh, my SL friend XXXX said…” It’s simply just “My friend.” I think that’s a good thing.

Anyway, since I’m slightly hungover, I’m also starving to death, so I think it’s lunchtime. But this song has been in my head since a phone call last night, so since I haven’t done it in a while….wtf is in Ali’s head today? Here you go.

BBBC Topic for Thursday

Awesome Awesome party tonight! It was so much fun and it was great getting to meet a few of you from the challenge, along with seeing all my favorites! Everyone looked SO good and there was just color overload! You can see a bunch of pics I took in my Snapzilla account. I took a few more to my desktop, but I ended up crashing after a bit. lol

We did this last year, and so we’re doing it again. 🙂

Parties and Pollos

I am SO excited. I got the tracking number and my new video card is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday! Can I get a HELL YEAH?! It has been horrible working off whatever internal default piece of crap I don’t even know what all card the past month. I’ll be low lag again. I’ll be able to go to stores with my friends and not have to say, “Yeah, I know we’ve been here 10 minutes, but I’m not rezzed yet.” I’ll be able to see dances actually moving smoothly, not the mostly jerky thing I see now. [Noel and I went to get some dances today. He wanted my opinion but unfortunately I couldn’t really give much of one being that I was running at about 3 FPS at the time. So so sad.] I’ll be able to see terrain and shiny and local lighting again! AND I’ll be able to take decent pictures again without practically crashing after each one!! I am so happy.

Speaking of happy, we had a fab hump day party! When I brought up the Fairy Tale theme, I could feel my friends cringe. But they definitely outdid themselves on the costumes!! So many great great outfits and I hope someone got some pics. I managed to get one and I tried to fix it up in Photoshop to make it a little less icky.

The party was just so much fun and there was a BIG discussion about living in a place called Poon. I ❤ my friends. They are seriously the most amazing people you'd want to meet. 🙂

And yeah…I went overboard on the sparkles again. I have a sickness for my sparkly stars!! They even managed to get into this pic and I swear they weren’t there before. lol

Right before I was going to log off for bed, I went to check on the chickens. Pollo Sophia wasn’t doing too well earlier because she forgot where the food dish was. Well, to be fair, she just got a little confused. We had 2 dishes out because Noel needed to upgrade his rooster, and after that food was gone, Pollo Sophia forgot there was another bowl. But she’s doing way better now. [Pollo Pumpkin never ever forgets where the food is.] So as I was about to walk away, I noticed something running through the flowers.

WE HAD A BABY!

Meet Pollo Lola, the shankingest chicken on the block. I don’t know which of my puta pollos had her, but I’m betting on Pollo Pumpkin since Pollo Lola seems to follow her the most. I’m just so sad I wasn’t there for the egg hatching!! I didn’t even KNOW. I was upstairs partying and there was life being done down below.

Beach party & chillin’

I’m supposed to be in bed but I can’t seem to sleep, so I thought I’d share some pics.

The Hump Day party was so so much fun. Great friends always make any party a success. Some of our new island residents also managed to come for their first hump day party, so that was nice to have them there.

I think the photo will be amazing and I cannot wait to see it and add it to my collection of photos in my office. Well…when it becomes an office. Right now it’s just kind of a spot where stuff is getting stored to keep out of my way.

I really really need to get to work on finishing up my home. But now I really really need to go to bed.

A disaster! A fashion disaster!

We had a really special Hump Day party tonight. The awesome Tymmerie had asked me if I’d thought of a theme yet for this week [I hadn’t] and if not, maybe we could a fashion disaster type party in honor of the newly chosen WTFug writers. It sounded like a terrific idea to me! She also volunteered to decorate, so I gave her free reign on a corner of the island and she REALLY went to town! It was adorable! Runway, laptops with different WTFug posts, photos of some of the fugged…so so cute!!

It’s super late, so I’m just going to show pics. No one gets named!! 😀 Let’s just say everyone looked awesome and awesomely bad. 🙂
