So Aldwyn’s been mentioning that our tv is broken. I dunno why he cares. I mean, it’s the holiday hiatus. There’s really not much on. But when I wanted to watch something today, well…that’s when I got mad that it’s broken!
I have a little technical training, so I tried to fix it. I jiggled the wires. I blew in the back of the tv. I jiggled the antenna [you think he’d spring for some cable up in this house]. I even tried putting foil on top of the antenna tips! Finally I pulled out the last trick in my arsenal of tech knowledge.
But then I realized that I’ve yet to get him a Christmas gift so hey! A brand new television would be the perfect gift, am I right?? What man doesn’t like electronics for Christmas? I quickly ran out and stopped in at the first television store I saw.
It didn’t go so well. There were just too many options and all the televisions were as big as the house! Then Christina Aguilera and some guy started singing and wailing and I had to run out of there.
The next television store didn’t go over so well, either. The televisions were, again, of monster proportions. I’m not about to let some huge ugly tv in the house to mess with the decor! Oh, and not only that, but they sold… well, see?
He can keep that stuff out in the garage, if he wants to.
I don’t know. Maybe we’re just not meant to have a new television. Do you think he’ll like socks for Christmas?
I don’t really go into our garage much. That’s Aldwyn’s mancave and a guy needs a place to like…get away from his wife. Or fix cars or whatever. I had run out there yesterday to grab some toys for the baby, but I hadn’t really looked around in a while. Imagine my surprise when Ulaa was passing by and happened to look into the garage window. Immediately she had to tell me [and everyone] that Al had some…THINGS in there. When I got home, I had to go in to look.
This is not what the mancave is for!! The mancave is for fixing cars and boats and puttering around with computers so parts don’t get all over the floors!
But, I’m also not against things like this occurring. I’m not that much of an asshole. I just would rather he have good quality visual aids, if you get my drift. So being the good wife that I am sometimes, I ran back inside the house, set up the camera, stripped down, and got to work. After all, what would be a better visual for a man than his wife, am I right??
After getting my clothes back on, I hopped back out to the garage to fix things up for him.
I couldn’t wait for him to get home! Sure, I had gotten on one of his computers. Sure, I had changed his screensaver and desktop picture. Sure, I drew some mustaches and Sharpie chola eyebrows on some of the girls in his magazines. But he’d be happy, right?
Yep. I was totally right. 🙂
But it might be a while before I venture back into the mancave.
So now that things in my life have finally settled down a bit, it’s time to go back to doing the wife thing. Although I know Aldwyn is capable of it, I like to be sure to take care of things like laundry. I mean, you guys just don’t know how much clothing we go through in a week! Well, okay. How much clothing I go through in a week. I keep trying to keep to a budget since the economy is not that great, as we all well know, and not just run out and buy new clothes every time something gets dirty. But isn’t it REALLY better for the economy if I just shop???
While things were washing, I figured I better clean the kitchen up some, too. Since I was trying to do something to the backyard, I ended up tracking in a lot of dirt as I ran back and forth. I’d hate for Al to get home and see all the dirt and hit me.
I was going to do more cleaning after I finished up with the kitchen, but….
What? It’s a big kitchen.
After my nap, it was time to do more laundry. Like I said, we go through a LOT of laundry around here. [I blame Aldwyn for not leaving me his wallet so I could just go buy new things. But for some reason he likes to go shopping with me. I think it’s so he makes sure I don’t buy anything ugly that will cause him to hit me.] The problem with laundry day is that then I have to find SOMETHING to put on. So usually, I just end up like this.
Gogo said I should blog the look. I think it’s part of her evil plan to make sure everyone looks worse than her.
I hear my dryer buzzing and so I guess I should go. Al should be home soon and I’ll need to be wearing something nice or he might hit me.
We’re busy at work in the backyard tonight so we can finally get things done and ready for a housewarming party. 🙂
Oh… Well, the building of a patio really IS more of a man’s job.
Since the husband has been busy recently, and I didn’t have anything else to really decorate, I finally got off my butt and went to get my stamp rally cards stamped so I could pick up my prizes. Omg, how cute is that dollhouse from Mocha???
The cool part about it is that it comes with all the furniture and I really like some of the pieces so if/when I get bored with what we have in our house now, I can switch out pieces now and then. Too too cute! I really did feel like a little doll running around in there. I love dolls and dollhouses, but they do always tend to remind me of the book “The Dollhouse Murders” that I read when I was younger. Did you all read that? Flippin’ creepy for a kids book, but man, did I love that book. That and “Wait Till Helen Comes.” Eeee! I’m creeping myself out now.
But I think my favorite prize is the Chemical Light AO. I have been running around with the AO on holding the light stick, but I love to just dance with it too.
Oh. I think Al needs some help…
God, what a lazy Sunday. I’ve been having massive crazy sinus/allergy issues the past few days, so you guys know how that can take it out of a person. I actually spent most of the day playing Dragon Age again. I get bored of games fairly easily, but that one draws me back again and again.
But that didn’t mean I didn’t get in to decorate more! Today I worked on our bathroom and part of the living room. I’ve also been trying to work on the master bedroom, but I *think* I’m going to want the wallpaper to be changed. I like pink, and I even found a bed in my inventory that matches the walls, but it’s just….too MUCH pink for me. I know, right? That actually just came out of MY mouth. And if it’s too much pink for me, then it’s really too much pink for it to be a shared bedroom.
I worked a little bit outside too, just adding this and that. I really do love this house.
Tomorrow I think I’ll finish up the dining room, and maybe start working on the backyard. And maybe the husband and I will actually get to see each other in the house for more than 10 minutes! Now that would be nice! 🙂
You know, every year around this time, I start to get Seasonal Affective Disorder. It’s been this way since my late teens/early 20s and I’ve learned to…well, I’d say cope, but somehow that doesn’t quite seem like the right word. I get through it, I should say. Long time readers of this blog know that November is my big bad awful month, but I quite like October in general. Yeah, I might have bad days, but I enjoy pumpkins and cooler weather and decorating for the season. I’ve been burning pumpkin & cinnamon candles, and in my head, that’s how our SL home smells. And I’m unleashing autumn colors all over our new house.
Each room that I put stuff in, each time I look around at our home, I get a little giddy. Ulaa kept saying she thought this house was too big, and maybe she’s right considering we don’t REALLY have the need for 3 bedrooms, but I like it.
I just hope Aldwyn likes having a pink bedroom… because I think that’s how it’s going to go.
I’m taking a break from all the moving in work!
Progress on the house is coming along. It’s funny, but you never realize how much stuff you have until you really start unpacking. So far today I’ve gotten work done on our bedroom, the guest room, the kitchen, the dining room, and the study. Plus I laid paths, planted trees, and moved mountains. Oh, and washed dishes.
I probably should have rolled up my sleeves before I got started. I hate wet cuffs.
By the way, do you think my butt is getting bigger? I feel like I’ve gained weight since the wedding. Probably because I’ve caught my man now and I don’t have to worry about it anymore, huh? Woo!
But all this exercise with the housework has GOT to burn some calories. I got on my nifty little scale that I picked up at the old Linden Lifestyles HQ back in the day and it said that I’m 127 pounds. So I probably burned off at least 100 calories raking leaves today! At least!
I really should get back to work. I took some time off earlier to set up our computer desks, since I know Aldwyn won’t be comfortable without a computer. [Okay, and neither will I.] I’m sure he’ll be very happy to come home from work today and be able to relax and read Drudge Report and…
Ummm…. Yeah, that was like that when I put it out.
