Anniversaries and other things

So yesterday was a big day for us! It was six years since my Birdy became MINE! Yep, 6 years ago I had her fall from the sky and if she made it, she would be my daughter. *laughs* Just kidding, but we did do skydiving that night.

It doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but 6 years in SL is an eternity, if you think about how much can happen. We’ve definitely been through a lot of changes, especially in the past 2 years, but one thing stays the same always. My little bird and I are stuck together like glue. And now we have someone in our life who loves us both so much, and even more than that, he genuinely enjoys us just the way we are – silly, bratty, quirky, and all.

How Long Will I Love You?

In other news, we have been putting in so much work on Bluebonnet in the past week! I’m really happy and excited about it! It’s got such a tiny town feel to it, and everything is in walking distance and I love it!

I knew when we started redoing the sim (sorry, I know Patch Linden wants us to call them regions and not sims, but man, that is hard to remember!) Jeremiah and I definitely wanted to put 7 Seas fishing out. It’s something fun and chill to do, you know? So… the Bluebonnet Fishing Dock!

The Bluebonnet Fishing Dock

I just adore how this came out! I do not really think I’m very good at sim design. But I am good at putting together a set. So I’m just putting together sets and luckily, everything is coming together pretty cute! It’s very tiny town. It’s not one of those super photogenic sims, but it’s super cute!

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, our fostering came to an end. Sometimes you can really really like someone, but you just don’t fit quite together as family, and that’s okay. Friendship is super important, too! It’s always been my belief that a very very long trial was necessary when adopting, but sometimes you know fairly quickly that you and the kiddo just are better off as friends. Anyone who has Lyra join their family will be incredibly lucky, and we definitely wish her nothing but love and luck in her future family search.

I think… Yeah, I think that’s it for now. I have shopping and some parcel landscaping to do today (primarily shopping, because that’s more fun than landscaping on a Saturday) so I’m off to go do that!

Country Life

So, Jeremiah has a problem.

Ok, it’s not really a problem as much as it is a fun hobby? *laughs*

He likes to rent places. We officially live on Bluebonnet, of course. But we rented a beach home a while back because we wanted somewhere to go boating. So now we have a darling little place in a big group of regions where we can not only go out on the boat, but also go flying if we want, as the area has an airport available. It’s really fun! We use the beach house mostly for game nights when we play U-Know. Oh y’all, we are cutthroat when we play U-Know! I adore game nights with my loves. ❤

But a few days ago, Jeremiah said he wanted to take me riding. Horseback riding! Which, if you remember from a vlog I did back in 2018, it is one of my favorite things to do in SL! I haven’t really gotten to do it much in the past year, so I thought it was pretty thoughtful of him to find a place where we could ride.

He chose this really charming community to take me to. It is a group of 6 regions and just gorgeous. There is a large area for doing more “competition” things, like steeplechase and just plain ol’ jumping fences. And there is a riding trail that goes all over the place! They also rent homes and well… you can basically guess what happened next.

We now have a very charming country home that is right along the riding trail!

Oh! I should also mention that back when Jeremiah met Birdy, it was pretty much the next day when he told me, “Oh, she is so getting a pony.”

This week, he made good on that.

My tiny cowgirl

My tiny cowgirl is such a cutie!

We finally had time last night to really go riding on the trails. Jeremiah and I had been down the trail before, but we had taken a turn somewhere and we thought the trail was pretty short for it being 6 regions long. Last night we found places with Birdy that we hadn’t seen before. Such as this ADORABLE little church!

St. Luke's In The Forest

This is called St. Luke’s In The Forest, and it’s just so sweet. It says that it is open all of the time for meditation, and there is a service on Sundays. I really liked the church a lot.

The whole community really is lovely, and the region owners are a very nice couple who have made us feel very welcomed. I’ll show pics of our little house later whenever I finish decorating it up. Or … well, I’ll probably do a house tour video, instead. I find doing house tour videos to be easier for me than showing photos of 5 different rooms and y’all know I’m all about convenience!

January Update

I keep coming in here and starting posts and getting distracted and forgetting what I meant to write about. I guess I’ve lost the knack for really blogging. I’m trying to write more lately over on the style blog, but after years of basically doing a picture and credits because I was told that’s what people wanted, it’s hard. But I’m trying anyway.

SLife has been really good lately. Oh! Oh my gosh. I .. wow, I just went back to re-read my last post and realized that I have BARELY said anything! For all you guys know (if you don’t follow me on Facebook or Plurk) is that I started dating someone new a while back. Um…

Christmas Gift

That’s right, we’re engaged! I know, some of you are probably like, “Wow, every time I look, you’re engaged.” To which I say…bite me. 🙂

Jeremiah makes me so incredibly happy, you guys. He just GETS me in a way that no other man in SL has done before. Now listen, I’ve been with some really good guys in SL. I am not talking badly about them at all. But when someone truly understands who you are, just the way you are, right in that moment? It’s priceless. He’s not going along with things I want just because. He’s not waiting for me to change to fit what he wants. I get to be just who I am right now. Do you even know how incredible that is for someone like me? I tend to think people don’t like who I am, or that they want something from me, or that I’m not good enough to be around. He doesn’t make me feel like that. I always feel wanted and loved.

I think one of the best parts about all of of this is how quickly Jeremiah picked up on being a father to my little Birdy.

My Loves

They absolutely adore each other. I did not let him meet her for a little while. I wanted to make sure that he would be staying in my life. I didn’t want to be one of those stupid SL girls who was in lovelovelove for 3 days and then single again. And plus, I had some other stuff going on and there were hurt feelings and weirdness … well, other things I won’t get into. But I knew, and he knew, pretty quickly that this was meant to be. So one night he finally got to meet her. And y’all. When I say that after 10 minutes I probably could have left and they wouldn’t have noticed? I mean it!! They hit it off so immediately, it was crazy. My beloved nerds. 🙂 (Yes, they make fun of me for not being very nerdy. But they love me anyway. LOL)

I’ve definitely been more immersed in SL lately. More than in the past 2 years combined, I’d say. I am still very into my Twitch streams, of course. But if I’m not streaming or gaming, I’m in SL. It feels like home again.

And the wedding? Oh, it’s gonna happen. We’ve actually got quite a bit of it planned already! Jeremiah is much better at planning than I am, so he has really taken so much pressure off of me as far as the wedding goes because I don’t have so much to do myself. I’ll talk more about wedding plans later.

And…I guess that’s all the update for now!

I...am...CRYING.

It’ll Happen One Day

So I haven’t had a chance to update lately because we’ve been so so busy! But I thought I’d answer the biggest question I got after the last blog post.

When is the wedding?!

Well…here’s the thing. I don’t know if we’ll do the big wedding extravaganza. I’ve done that before and while it was lovely, I’m a much different person than I was in 2011. Neither of us feel the need to have this big massive thing. In my head, it’s just the 3 of us (Birdy is included, of course!) doing a private little ceremony, maybe with just family in attendance. I do want a wedding dress, but I picture myself in something boho and/or vintage styled. Maybe one of these days, I’ll do a live stream and go dress shopping! But I couldn’t buy anything because Michael does watch my streams, and I’d hate to ruin the surprise. Some traditions MUST be upheld, of course!

I do think that I want a party to celebrate later, though. Nothing massive, just friends and family and music and dancing. Lots of fun!

But other than there being no real news on the wedding front… That’s about all I’ve got. We are all happy when we can spend time together. Trying to balance our time has been a bit of an issue, but we’re definitely working on it.

I hope everyone has had a great February! I really am going to try to update this blog more with our adventures, but that whole balance thing I was talking about kinda makes me push some things to the side. If only there were an extra couple of hours in the day! Someone get to work on that, okay??
